Month Five
You turned 5 months old on Friday. You are at least 16 pounds now and eating is your newest favorite activity. You have sampled rice cereal 4-5 times, and you like it so much that you can't get the food in your mouth fast enough. Food time is always followed by bath time, so the whole process is usually an exciting hour for everyone.
You are almost crawling - you can turn around in circles on your tummy and sometimes scoot sideways. We find you in strange positions in the crib - you really enjoy sleeping with your head crammed in the bumper and your bum in the air. (If that is what keeps you asleep for 9 hours at a time, we are all for it!)
We are trying to call you by your name more often than using nicknames. We still slip up and call you Chubby, Monkey and Goober, and sometimes The Evil Genius. You like to mimic our words, and we're pretty sure you've said Dada, Mama, Yes, Hi, and Okay several times.
Your hair is growing in a fine blond, maybe with a hint of red. You are so very strong - it sometimes takes both Mom and Dad to break your grip when you get a hold of something you shouldn't. You enjoy teething rings, picking up Soren from school, your exersaucer, rain dripping on your head, birds singing, car rides, and kisses in your neck. Of which you get many.
