Month Eight

Dear Ava,

Your favorite things this month are: eating, estambali polo, Sonic straws (preferably with limeade slushies in them), Henry, the boinging door stopper, eating, cruising around the living room, laughing at Soren (see the video!), your peeps, all your boys at Peggy's house (Fletcher, Zack, Trip, and H.J.), your grandparents, going to the park, swimming in the pool, and eating. You still have 2 bottom teeth.

Soren loves playing with you - she made you a BMW out of a box and she pushes you all around the living room. She sets out peeps for you at night (Little People) so you will see them in the morning. She sometimes shares her platypus, Oliver, but only until you start to eat his nose.

You helped Daddy remodel the bathroom by chewing on his rubber mallet. You like to eat anything now that isn't tasteless baby food. Especially anything other people are eating. You're still drinking milk 3 times a day and 2 bottles at Peggy's. Sometimes you forget that Mom is not a bottle and think you can bite your dinner. You sleep from around 7:30pm to 7:30am. As long as you have your pacifier and pink baby in the crib, you can sooth yourself back to sleep if you wake up in the middle of the night.

Peggy sometimes calls you A.J. You answer to "Junie" more often than "Ava" and you're almost exclusively using your left hand. You discovered the secret hallway to the kitchen, and now we have to use two gates to block off the office, a.k.a. the Magical Land of Cables and Keyboards. (We did finally get you a keyboard of your very own.)

You love swimming in the pool. The swim diaper is usually too much trouble, and you prefer skinny dipping anyway. The splashy balls are very exciting.

These first 8 months have really flown by. We are loving you more every day. Happy birthday, Baby.
