Happy Holidays!

Month Twenty-Three

We seem to have fallen into a space warp and time is moving faster than ever. You're about to be two! Here's what happened in October... It was a very exciting month, because we had Halloween, and Halloween is the time of year when we dress up as animals and go ask the neighbors for candy! You didn't stop to ask any questions about this strange practice, you just picked up your candy bag and started waddling your eight purple legs outside. Daddy made an octopus costume for you out of 4 matching pants and Soren dressed up as a puppy. Your vocabulary exploded to include hoween, (s)pooky, dark, light on, punkin, monser, sary (scary) and wassat?!

Your other major obsession is the movie My Neighbor Totoro (thank you, Philip!). This is the only movie you have ever watched in its entirety. You have never even bothered watching a full half hour cartoon on TV, but you watched "Tototo" with Soren on the way to Arkansas and loved it. Every day you wake up and say "Tototo! Watchem?" You have memorized most of the movie in the last month and start quoting the lines before they happen. "Mei! Where are you?" We are planning your birthday party this year as a Tototo party and will also incorporate your other favorite thing, which is a Tea Party. And fire trucks.

We took you to the fire house to see a real fire truck and you loved it. You want to go every night to find the giant water tower where the fire trucks live. Any day we get stopped by a train is a good day for you. And tractors. You get that from Daddy.

Your favorite books are now Knuffle Bunny, Chicka Chick Boom Boom, and I Love You Stinky Face. Other new words include icy keem, (chicka chicka) boom boom, and cuckles tummy (tickles). You also have learned how to say "Sorn, no touch me!" and "Don't git me!" You like to tell us jokes, and one time you made Soren choke on a piece of gum by spontaneously singing the Tinkle Potty Song in your Low Voice.

Daddy told you to stop growing up so fast, but you don't seem to be listening! What a sweet big girl you are, Ava June.
