Month Twenty-Four

Baby Ava, Big Girl Ava June,

November and December were busy. They were so busy that we finally gave up on the monthly website updates and decided to post smaller, less frequent news bites. But we can’t stop at Month Twenty-Three because we almost made it two years! And it’s such a prime number…

November flew by! You became obsessed with the Outback blimp that parked up at the airport for a while. You started yelling “I need mints!” every time an ambulance drove past us in the car. (I need mints = ambulance) You started asking the same question over and over again so many times that we started making things up. “Where the ducks?” “They flew south for the winter.” “Where the ducks?” “They flew south for the winter.” “Where the ducks?” “In your pants.”

December was so exciting! You had a Totoro birthday party with pumpkin cupcakes! You had a couple of very fun Christmas parties. You developed Santaphobia. You took a car trip to Arkansas to visit Granny Kay and Grandpa Johnny and all your favorite Arkies. You moved to Tot 2 (new class at day care) and threw away your pacifiers. You learned how to say the ABCs “a b c b mama mama p”. Our most favorite phrases include, “how you doing?”, “gum find some?”, “I want some yater”, "baby yater" (maybe later), and “I need sumsing”. The latter involved Daddy mentioning chocolate. You wandered into the kitchen and said, “I need…….. sumsing.” Eventually you remembered what you needed and let us all know.

The Santaphobia is pretty funny. You’re still talking about him now in February. We’ve determined that it’s more of a long-beard-related fear because you’ve transferred it to Dan Boone and Jahruba, both extremely nice people with long beards who you can’t stand to be near.

You are hilarious! You make everybody laugh and your smiles are infectious. We love you so much! Here’s to another 2 years times infinity.
